As a multidisciplinary artist, my work includes painting, drawing, sculpture, installation and performance art. The family unit, childhood, and the impressions they have left are the point of departure for my work in recent years. I examine the influence of documentation (by means of family photographs, letters, and various documents) on the shaping of individual memory, as both a personal experience and a reproduced event. Alongside the attempt to capture everyday moments from the past, my works are also concerned with self-oblivion and the blurring of memory. I am motivated by an engagement with materiality, and combine delicate, personal materials such as pages from old childhood diaries, notebooks, and coloring books with readily available industrial materials such as nylon, glass, inner tubing, and cardboard boxes. My works involve repetitive manual crafts such as sewing, knitting, the reproduction of figures from photographic albums, and the creation of geometric patterns. They give rise to a dialogue between intimacy and estrangement, unique and recycled elements, the geometric and the amorphous.
My works have been featured in various art festivals and exhibitions. I am represented by the gallery Artspace, where I exhibit on a regular basis.
